So this is a special for our Patreon folks – we’ve never released this episode and only briefly mentioned it. This is an Interview with Kevin Bjornson, the owner of Hydro-Tech Hydroponics, one of the country’s earliest grow stores up in the PNW (Seattle) area. He was apart of the Northern Lights crew and was really an integral person in the scene at that time, and currently still owns Hydro-Tech.
Now, for transparency purposes, we chose not to release this for a few reasons. One, this was during a very politically charged time, the election between biden / trump and my man Bjornson was not shy about who he loved. Second, there is a lot of adult talk about sex acts… a bunch… and while we arent monks or judgmental about that, I had to make a judgment call at the time and was worried that Kevin may not like some of the reactions or judgments from some if the listeners. Third, there was some iffy snitch talk and that never is fun. Fourth, we are a Cannabis History podcast, and there wasn’t much of this story related to strains. Since the recording Kevin has asked a few times when I will release it, so he does want it heard.
In my experience with my beautiful Co-Host Notsodog, no one has ever ever been able to overtalk him. ever. hes verbose as they come and unlike some folks, to me anyway, he never is boring and its always deeply interesting. But Mr. Bjornson would not let either of us get many words in edgewise. So that part if SUPER funny to note as you listen to it.
I’d like to thanks Kevin Bjornson for taking the time to sit down with us for a chat. It was super entertaining to record it, and the delay was my decision, not anyone else’s – so my apologies to him, as well, for taking so long to decide to release it.
I also wanted to take the time to thank those of you who come and show up, who listen, and also support the show. the post Pandemic world is hard, and I understand that we are all strapped way tighter – so the fact that you feel what we are bringing is worth supporting… just from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Every single one of you have probably read somewhere over the last 15 years that I’m an evil maniac. But all of you chose to see for yourself what;s up. I couldnt be more proud to be apart of the largest and most well informed crew in the history of cannabis. And without a doubt, this crew is 100% that. so thank you for enjoying this ride with me and Notso.
This is the full, unedited, unproduced interview done over the phone, so please excuse the quality. Also, it takes a few seconds to get started, so if it sounds like dead air, give it a few and it will start rolling.
